- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ tablespoons ground cinnamon
- ½ cup powdered sugar (optional glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the softened butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Bring the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Divide the dough in half and roll each half into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.
- Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over the rectangles.
- Roll each rectangle tightly into a log, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Slice the dough into ½-inch rounds and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
- Cool for 5 minutes on the sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
- Optional: Drizzle with a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
