Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (optional glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the softened butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Bring the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Divide the dough in half and roll each half into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.
  7. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over the rectangles.
  8. Roll each rectangle tightly into a log, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  9. Slice the dough into ½-inch rounds and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
  11. Cool for 5 minutes on the sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
  12. Optional: Drizzle with a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
