- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
- Fold in the oats, chocolate chips, and pecans until evenly distributed.
- Drop tablespoon-sized dough onto prepared sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers look slightly underdone.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
These cookies can be frozen after baking or freeze the dough for future use.
