Description

These quick and easy crescent rolls are baked to golden perfection, making them a delightful side dish or snack for the whole family.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp dry active yeast
  • 11 Tbsp margarine or softened butter (about 2/3 cup)
  • 3/4 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water with the dry active yeast and sugar. Let it sit for about 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. While waiting for the yeast, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl.
  3. Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the dry ingredients along with the softened margarine or butter. Mix until a rough dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the risen dough gently. Roll it out into a large circle, about 1/4 inch thick, and cut into 8 wedges.
  7. Roll each wedge from the wide end to the pointy end to form crescent shapes.
  8. Place the rolled crescents on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for about 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before serving warm.

Notes

Add different fillings, such as shredded cheese or cinnamon and sugar, for a personalized touch.
