Description
A quick and easy weeknight dinner featuring tender cabbage and fluffy dumplings, all cooked in one pot.
Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup whole milk (or plant-based milk)
- 2 eggs (or flax egg for vegan)
- 1 medium green cabbage, chopped
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (or olive oil)
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, milk, and eggs. Stir until just combined and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Melt butter in a large pan over medium heat, add chopped onion and sauté until translucent (about 5 minutes).
- Add chopped cabbage to the pan and cook until tender (about 10 minutes).
- Form rested dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter).
- Bring a pot of water to a boil, then cook dumplings until they float (8-10 minutes).
- Transfer dumplings to the pan with cabbage and gently fold together, allowing to simmer for 2 minutes.
- Serve with a sprinkle of fresh parsley.
Notes
This dish is customizable; you can use other vegetables or add leftover meats. Serve with a side salad or sausages for a heartier meal.
