This incredibly quick and easy Green Sauce Chicken is baked in one dish and ready in about 30 minutes, making it a perfect hassle-free family dinner.

- 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 16 ounces salsa verde
- 1½ cups freshly grated Monterey Jack cheese
- ¼ cup freshly chopped cilantro (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1 inch and season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Place seasoned chicken breasts in a greased 9″x13″ baking dish.
- Pour salsa verde over chicken, ensuring it is well covered.
- Top with Monterey Jack cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 22-25 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Optionally broil for 1-2 minutes for a golden brown crust.
- Sprinkle with freshly chopped cilantro before serving.
Notes
Serve over rice or with warm tortillas and beans. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
