Description

This incredibly quick and easy Green Sauce Chicken is baked in one dish and ready in about 30 minutes, making it a perfect hassle-free family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 16 ounces salsa verde
  • 1½ cups freshly grated Monterey Jack cheese
  • ¼ cup freshly chopped cilantro (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1 inch and season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Place seasoned chicken breasts in a greased 9″x13″ baking dish.
  4. Pour salsa verde over chicken, ensuring it is well covered.
  5. Top with Monterey Jack cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 22-25 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Optionally broil for 1-2 minutes for a golden brown crust.
  7. Sprinkle with freshly chopped cilantro before serving.
