Ingredients

  • 1 package of gyoza wrappers (about 300g)
  • 300g ground pork or chicken
  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Water for steaming

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling by combining ground pork (or chicken), chopped cabbage, green onions, grated ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and seasoning in a bowl.
  2. Assemble the dumplings by placing filling in the center of gyoza wrappers, moisten edges with water, and fold to seal.
  3. Fry the dumplings in vegetable oil over medium heat until the bottoms are golden brown (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Steam the dumplings by adding water to the pan, covering it, and cooking for 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Crisp them up by cooking for an additional minute after steaming.
  6. Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
