Lebanese Spicy Potatoes (Batata Harra)

Description

This quick and easy Lebanese dish features spicy potatoes that are perfect for a family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Yukon gold potatoes, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • ¾ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ cup cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Pat the potatoes dry with paper towels until completely dry.
  2. Mix the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika in a bowl. Stir in the olive oil to create a paste.
  3. Toss the potatoes in the spice mixture until coated evenly.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) or oven to 425°F (220°C).
  5. Arrange the potatoes in the air fryer or spread them on a baking sheet for the oven. Cook for about 20-35 minutes, shaking or stirring occasionally until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Heat a small pan over medium heat, add olive oil, and then add the minced garlic. Cook until fragrant.
  7. Toss the crispy potatoes in the garlic oil and cayenne pepper if desired.
  8. Garnish with chopped cilantro and drizzle with lemon juice before serving.
