Description

This easy Shish Tawook comes together in about 30 minutes and is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner your family will love!


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 3 cloves garlic, grated/minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 pound boneless and skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, mix together the plain yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, tomato paste, minced garlic, paprika, ground cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Toss the chicken pieces into the marinade, ensuring every piece gets coated. Cover it and pop it in the fridge for at least 20 minutes.
  3. Preheat the Grill: If using a grill, preheat it to medium-high heat. Alternatively, you could use a grill pan on your stovetop.
  4. Skewer the Chicken: Skewer the pieces onto soaked wooden skewers or metal skewers.
  5. Grill the Chicken: Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 2-5 minutes per side until cooked through.
