A quick and easy Swedish meatballs recipe using frozen meatballs, perfect for weeknight dinners. Creamy sauce and customizable ingredients make it comforting and adaptable.


Ingredients

  • 1 bag of Cooked Perfect Frozen Homestyle Meatballs
  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 1/3 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups of beef broth
  • 3/4 cup of sour cream
  • Cooked egg noodles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place your frozen meatballs on a sheet pan in a single layer and bake for 20 minutes.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, melt the butter until bubbling.
  4. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 2 minutes until slightly thickened and golden brown.
  5. Gradually stir in the beef broth while stirring continuously. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Reduce heat to low and stir in the sour cream until blended.
  7. Add the baked meatballs to the sauce and cook for another 10 minutes on low.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve over cooked egg noodles and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Leftover meatballs can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. They freeze well for up to 3 months.
