Description

Delicious and simple wind fritters made in one bowl that are perfect for a quick weeknight meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (or oil)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, vanilla, and melted butter or oil until smooth and frothy.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until you have a thick batter with no lumps.
  4. Heat half an inch of oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Pour small amounts of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  7. Serve warm, optionally topped with powdered sugar, maple syrup, or chocolate sauce.
