Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of bread (white, wheat, or whole-grain)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk (cow’s, almond, or oat, avoid nut milks for babies under one)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Butter or oil for frying
  • Optional add-ins: fruit puree, grated cheese, nut butter

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the egg, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Dip the slices of bread into the mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.
  3. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add butter or oil.
  4. Cook the soaked bread for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Remove from the skillet, let cool for a few minutes, and cut into small pieces for serving.

Notes

Serve warm alone, with a drizzle of maple syrup (if baby is over one), yogurt, or nut butter. Store leftovers in the fridge or freeze for later use.
